NII Explore is back at it with another summer full of exciting science content! Last summer, NII Explore introduced thousands of students to fun, interactive science experimentsand we're looking to expand our team again.

Job Title: Summer Student

Organization: Nuclear Innovation Institute

Job location: 620 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin (Off-site work is required for these positions)

Duration: July 4, 2022 to August 26, 2022

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

Wage: $18.00 per hour

Reports to: Director of NII Explore

The focus:

With the team, Summer Students will develop a series of engaging, entertaining and interactive science experiments and lesson plans for summer activities across various locations within Bruce and Grey counties. This role is suitable for post-secondary students, recent graduates or high school students.

Key duties:

  • Collaborating with the Program Coordinator to create new educational opportunities for rural communities.

  • Working with partner organizations and sponsors to help plan programming schedules.

  • Being a positive role model by encouraging students to learn new things, try their best and dream big!

Key skills and experience required for the role:

  • Working with children

  • Punctuality

  • Excellent oral communication skills

  • Presentation skills

  • High energy

  • Detailed oriented


  • Vulnerable sector check

  • Valid G driver's license

  • Ability to transport self to office and various locations across Bruce and Grey counties

  • Working some weekends for special events
