Join the NII team: now hiring a full-time Program Coordinator (18-mth contract)

Job Title: Program Coordinator

Organization: Nuclear Innovation Institute

Job location: 620 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin. Some offsite work may be required including attending events and meetings throughout the Bruce-Grey-Huron region.

Duration: 18-month contract


Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)


Wage: Up to $50,000 annually


Reports to: Director, Policy and Partnerships


The role:

  • 18-month contract to support partnership programs at NII, including the Bruce Power Centre for New Nuclear & Net Zero Partnerships, and Clean Energy Frontier program, and administrative support for the Director and Chief Operating Officer

The focus:

The Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director and Program Specialist with the delivery of the New Nuclear & Net Zero Partnership program and the Clean Energy Frontier program.


This role will: implement marketing tactics; coordinate in-person and virtual events; coordinate video and digital advertising campaigns; create content to support the promotion of partnership programs and program outcomes.


Additionally, the Program Coordinator will be asked to provide administrative support to the Director and Chief Operating Officer, including but not limited to: responding to inquiries, supporting meeting preparation and other duties.


The Program Coordinator may be asked to advance research and communication initiatives regarding clean energy, new nuclear technologies and net zero initiatives.


Key duties:

1) Program administration

  • Communicate and manage overall event booking and coordination with community partners on upcoming initiatives and events including roundtable discussions, meetings and an annual Summit event.

2) Marketing and advertising

  • Draft content for video scripts, publications, web presence, blog posts, and other

  • Coordinate implementation of marketing tactics to include billboards, videos, print publications, and other pieces as required

  • Advance marketing initiatives to promote public-facing reports

3) Communications

  • Develop content for social media postings, in partnership with NII communication professionals

  • Draft news release content in partnership with team members

  • Coordinate meaningful public engagement opportunities in partnership with NII communications professionals and team members

4) Research & content development

  • Advance research to support publications, blog posts, presentations, other

  • Build connections in the clean energy sector to source information from key partners

Key skills required for the role:

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Detail-oriented

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Self starter, forward thinking and proactive

  • Ability to identify potential and drive initiatives forward

Education/specialized training and skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education in business, marketing, public policy, communications, event planning, or relevant study

  • Marketing, communication, community engagement and research experience is considered an asset
